About the University

The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD), or simply Perpetual, is a private, non-sectarian institution of higher learning located in Las Pinas City and was founded on 1975 by Dr. Antonio Tamayo, Dr. Daisy Tamayo, and Ernesto Crisostomo as Perpetual Help College of Rizal (PHCR).

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is a co-educational and non-sectarian university. The University of Perpetual Help System offers courses in pre-school, elementary, secondary and the tertiary and graduate levels; as well as short vocational, technical and special courses.

University of Perpetual Help System DALTA has three main campuses: UPHSD Las Piñas Campus, in Las Piñas City Manila, UPHSD Molino Campus, in Molino Cavite and UPHSD Calamba Campus, in Calamba Laguna (province) all in the district of Manila, Philippines.

The University of Perpetual Help System Las Pinas is the main campus of University of Perpetual Help System DALTAwith which under the entire university system of University of Perpetual Help System. This university system is composed of nine campuses across the Philippines.

Formerly known as University of Perpetual Help Rizal, the Las Pinas Main Campus of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA was envisioned by its founders to fulfill their nationalistic dreams of promoting a better quality of life for all Filipinos through the school's competitive educational programs.

The philosophy that national development is predicated upon the quality of education and Christian values has propelled the institution to academic excellence. It has more than 20 colleges and more than 70 various courses inculcating the Perpetualite values, teachings and principles.


The University system is under the management of the DALTA Group of Companies that runs several companies and businesses in Luzon.

Most graduates are now in the USA who formed themselves into Perpetualites Association of America and serving as a direct linkage for Perpetualite students and alumni there.

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is recognized by Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) as the only institution south of Metro Manila to have the most number of Level III Accredited programs

University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD), Las Pinas Campus

Formerly named Perpetual Help College of Rizal (PHCR), the 1st and biggest University of Perpetual Help System DALTA located in Las Piñas city has a student population of around 12,000 students and employs about 1,500 teaching and non-teaching staff. It offers more than 70 undergraduate and more than 10 postgraduate academic programs in addition to its primary and secondary academic offerings.

As an active member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Philippines, it continuously seeks and trains young athletes to compete in NCAA and to represent the entire system DALTA.

University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) Molino Campus

The 2nd University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) campus, the Molino campus was established and inaugurated in May 1995. Currently, the UPHSD caters to a student population of 4,000 - a dramatic increase based on its initial 700 enrollees. Standing tall in a pristine land area of 6 hectares, the Molino campus is now the most notable educational institution in Bacoor, Cavite and its neighboring towns. It is currently undergoing campus expansion and upgrading of facilities.

More than its structure, the people that comprise this thriving institution have continuously grown physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually as they consistently uphold the philosophy of the University: to constantly invoke Divine Guidance in the betterment of Filipino lives through quality education.

University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD), Calamba Campus

The 3rd University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD), the Calamba campus was established in 1996 with only 360 students. To date, its enrollment has dramatically increased to 2,500 enrollees. Strategically located in Barangay Paciano Rizal, Calamba City, the 4-hectare campus has an impressive line of state-of-the-art educational facilities conducive for learning.

Living up to the standards set by its mother institution, the Calamba campus continues to promote the Perpetualite vision and mission of being a premier university system in the Philippines that develops the Filipino to become Helpers of God. With an extensive network of national and international linkages in higher education and business, University of Perpetual Help System Calamba Campus is preparing the globally competitive Filipinos by providing venues for the pursuit of excellence.

ACCREDITED ACADEMIC PROGRAMS OF UPHSD

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is duly accredited by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to accept foreign students from all over the world in all its degree programs in the undergraduate and graduate levels, due to the high quality, relevance, and efficacy of its instruction, curricular content, highly qualified faculty, community involvement, research, and infrastructure, based on the three pillars of education: academics, research, and community service. It has attained the coveted stature of a world-class institution of higher learning.

UPHSD is also recognized by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) as the only institution south of Metro Manila to have the most number of Level III Accredited programs in Liberal Arts (Psychology, Political Science, Communication), Education (Bachelor in Elementary Education and Bachelor in Secondary Education), Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

The goal of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA library and media center is to ensure that all members of the school community have equitable access to books for reading, and research information. 

CAMPUS MINISTRY

The Campus Ministry serves as a catalyst for human development and a vanguard for transformation of the students through different spiritual programs. It assists its members in their quest for spiritual nourishment through counseling, recollection, retreats and the like.

ATHLETICS

University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) since 1984. NCAA is an athletic association of eight colleges and universities in the Philippines. Students, faculty and staff members also participate in intramural and club sports, and use the excellent athletics and fitness facilities.

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) since 1984 with UPHSD Altas as the team representing the school in various sports.

The moniker ‘Altas’ comes from the Latin word “height,” symbolizing UPHD's aspirations for further greatness. At the same time, it comes from the initials of the school founder, Dr. Antonio L. Tamayo.

The senior varsity teams for men are named UPHSD Altas. The junior teams are the UPHSD Altalettes, while the women's teams are the UPHSD Lady Altas.

BASKET BALL

Since it has joined the league, the Altas basketball team had won two General Championships from their winning years 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 in two consecutive seasons. They were able to reach the final four in the semifinals on NCAA’s 80th season and in the 88th season under coach Januario “Aric” del Rosario. The most recent time that the university hosted the tournament was on 2011 of NCAA Season 87: Brazen at ‘87.

CHEERLEADING

Bringing much pride to the university is the school’s cheerleading team, the University of Perpetual Help System Altas Perp Squad. They have relentlessly won the Cheerleading Championships of NCAA Seasons 81, 82, 83, 85, 86, 87, and 88. Their four-peat win and seventh NCAA title is currently the league's best on cheerleading competition record. The Altas Perp Squad also consistently ranks on the National Cheerleading Championship (NCC) Top 3 since 2006 to 2013, winning 1st place in 2009.

The Altas Perpsquad nabbed the 1st Runner Up position in the National Cheerleading and Dance Championship National Capital Regional Qualifiers College Coed Division held from February 2 to 3, 2013 at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City

BEACH VOLLEYBALL

For NCAA Season 88th, the beach volleyball teams of University of Perpetual Help System have dominated all categories. Lady Altas duo, Norie Jane Diaz and April Anne Sartin, achieved their unprecedented four-peat championship titles which they have defended since 2009.

The Altas men’s pair, Jay Dela Cruz and Sandy Montero, seized their first ever championship crown. The Junior Team, Jherald Martinez and Cristopher Soriano, placed second in their barefoot fight in the beach volleyball finals.

VOLLEYBALL

In Season 87, the Altas men’s volleyball team won their 7th league crown via sweep in an immaculate record of 14-0 win from elimination to the final round.

The Lady Altas likewise swept its championship series to secure its first victory since joining the league in 1984 and to cap an undefeated 14-game season.

In Season 88, the ALTAS and Lady ALTAS grab its two peat Back to Back Championship. The Lady Altas nabs its back-toback- championship and the ALTAS continued its reign of the Championship crown for three consecutive years (NCAA Volleyball Season 86th, 87th, and 88th).

BS MD Program:

Philippines have developed the education system, similar to the USA. Thus after High School (Grade 10) the students join a Bachelors Degree. Those who want to study Medicine do the Pre-Medicine in Bachelor of Science in Biology, Medical Technology, Nursing, Pharmacy or Physiotherapy. After which they sit for National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) exam then they enroll for 4 years medical course known as ‘Doctor of Medicine’ (MD). The MD degree awarded in USA / Philippines is equivalent to MBBS of UK / Commonwealth Countries. Philippines is the world's Second largest exporter of Physicians after India.
